Chernitsky of Uniontown, Pennsylvania, born in New York, New York, who passed away on January 31, 2022, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. She is survived by: her children, Dan (Marlene Chernitsky) of Rock Hill, SC, Mary Lou (Tom Bogden) of Jacksonville, FL and John (Patricia Chernitsky) of Haymarket, VA; her daughter-in-law Linda Chernitsky of Virginia Beach, VA.; her grandchildren, Lori (Lee Rigby) of Morgantown, WV, Beth Chernitsky of Farmington, PA, Peter, Sarah Chernitsky (William Quay) of Oxford, OH, Laura (Travis Pyle) of Virginia Beach, VA, Leah (James Lewis) of Fairfax, VA, Mary (Taylor Chernitsky), Kara Bogden (Frank Tagliarini), Darius (Lydia Chernitsky) of Silver Spring, MD and Nikolai Chernitsky; her great grandchildren, Tyler Rigby of Morgantown, WV, Jordan (Quinn Rigby) of Scarborough, ME, Alyssa Tagliarini of Fleming Island, FL, Chase Fairbanks of Uniotown, PA, Addyson Tagliarini of Tampa, FL, Ashley Fairbanks of Farmington, PA, Mia Chernitsky of Conroe, TX, Collin Pyle of Virginia Beach, VA, Maddox Grayauskie of Fleming Island, FL, Emma Pyle of Virginia Beach, VA, Quinn Grayauskie of Fleming Island, FL and Colton Lewis of Fairfax, VA.; her sister-in-law Helen Piwowar (Chernitsky) of Uniontown, PA; and her niece Anna Marie (Pat Trimbath) of Dunbar, PA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

“We will miss Dorothy and she will not be forgotten! In South Carolina, Dorothy always talked about her home in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. She is very honored, I’m sure, to be home! She loved you all! Dorothy was strong, smart and funny right until the end! She could walk laps and laps at 100, and outpaced so many 30 years younger. She loved all of the cards from her family and remembered her family tree. She loved Singing in the Rain and knew every line. She was always kind! Love you Dorothy!!”
