He was predeceased by: his parents, Sherman Hayden and Mary Alice MacIntosh Hayden; his children, Daniel R. Hayden, David A. Hayden, Jr. and Janie Duda; and his grandson Bryce Hayden.

He is survived by: his daughter-in-law Sydney Hayden; his grandchildren, Davina, Kiara, Greyson, David, III, McKenzie Hayden and Trisia Hixson; and his great grandchildren, Braelyn Hayden, Alyssa, Evelyn, Adalyn and Emery Hixson (Joanne Reno).
