He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde B. Sr. McDowell and Dorothy McDowell (Dean); his wife Marilyn McDowell (Spade); and his sisters, Carolyn May and Debbie Thomas.
He is survived by: his son Jason McDowell (Tangy) of Hopwood; his stepson Larry Spade (Julie) of Uniontown; his grandchildren, Mia and Brandon; his stepgrandchildren, Rachel, Tyler and Anna; his sister Judy Karpiak (Tom) of Connellsville; and his close friend Roger Seese of Uniontown.
