He was predeceased by: his parents, John Joseph and Betty Jean Phillips (King); his wife Dorothy Ann Phillips (Gallagher); and his siblings, John P. Phillips, Harry Holyfield, Edna Hunt and Isobel Tolbert.

He is survived by: his caregiver Mindy Madison of Lemont Furnace, PA; and his brother Lamoyne Holyfield of Lakeland, FL. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
