He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Brainard and Marjorie Peck Brainard; and his siblings, Janice Estabrook, William and Jack Brainard.

He is survived by: his close friend Wendy Bibalo; his children, Lynn Brainard (Bonnie) of Rolla, MO, Michael Brainard of Duke Center, PA, Stephanie Stone of Hallstead, PA, Richard Bednarczyk of Deposit, NY and David; his sister Sharon Decker of Harford, PA; his sister-in-law Bonnie Brainard of Kingsley, PA; and his cousin Ruth Taugher of Lenoxville, PA. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.

Visitation was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home & Cremation Services (18 Airport Rd, Clifford, PA 18413).
