He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd F. Tarbell and Dorothy M. Range Tarbell; and his brothers, Crawford and Lynn. He is survived by: his wife Grace A. Tarbell of Union City; his children, Denise Lutton (Kevin) of Corry and Eric Tarbell (Crystal) of Fort Myers, Florida; his stepgrandsons, Bryce and Aiden; and his cousin Shirley Seidler (Rex) of Union City. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
