He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Johannes Wahlig and Cecilia Engelhardt Wahlig; his wife Maria Schwalek; his children, Josef H. Wahlig (Brenda), Daniel Wahlig, Leonard Wahlig (Margie), Paul Wahlig and Heidi Murray (Christopher); his brother Franz Wahlig of Lorsch, Germany; and his granddaughter Cecilia Wahlig.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Church, c/o St. Bibiana Church, 111 Germania St., Galeton, PA 16922.
