He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Peter Briar and Catherine Mary Huntzinger Briar; his wife Patricia Jean Greene Briar; and his sons, Darren and Damon Briar.
He is survived by: his children, Wentzel "Skip" Briar Jr. (Lilllian) of Ulster, Patricia Briar Preim of Hammonton, NJ, Janee Briar Prown (David) of Middletown, NJ, Gabrielle Briar of Ulster and Susan Briar Lamb (Tim) of Ulster; and his siblings, Alice Briar Wasielewski of Trenton, NJ, Elizabeth Briar Card (Richard Card Sr.) of Spartanburg, SC, Robert Briar (Norma) of Ormond Beach, FL and John Briar (Janet) of Palm Coast, FL. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren.
