He was predeceased by: his father Gilbert "Ted" Sands. He is survived by: his wife Anna L. Dymond Sands; his daughter Lori Sands; and his grandchildren, Nickolas Kiwak of Ulster and Haley Coolbaugh of Ulster. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family suggests that contributions be directed to Black Walnut American Legion Post No. 510, 328 Old Route 6 Road, Laceyville, PA 18623 in memory of Korah Robert Sands.
