He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Augustus Merritt Sr. and Catherine Gattuso Merritt; and his sisters, Ann Marie Dexter and Bonnie Merritt-McNeil. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Pipher Merritt; his children, Edward Augustus "Eddie" Merritt III and Wendy Kay West (Lester); his grandchildren, Katie Marie Merritt, Kyle Edward Merritt, Austin Merritt, Aaron Merritt, Alison Kay West, Bradley West, Emily West and Nathan West; and his siblings, John Russell Merritt (Sandy), Nancy Killian (Bob) and Shirley Kingery. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home (217 York Ave, Towanda, PA 18848). A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
