He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur LeRoy Dawes Sr. and Helen Rhine Dawes; his brothers, James Dawes and Ernest; and his siblings-in-law, Geneva Dawes, Letha Dawes and William Baney.
He is survived by: his wife Catherine R. Dawes; his sons, Arthur L. Dawes III (Wendi) and Christopher J. Dawes; his stepchildren, Michael McCool and Heather Franz (Adam); and his sisters, Beverly Richardson (Dennis), Beulah Auman (Thomas) and Helen Baney. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren.
