He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward J. Shaffer and Verna Shaffer Sr. (Zimmerman); his daughter Abigail Becker; and his son-in-law David Ammerman. He is survived by: his wife Eleanor Shaffer (Shultz); his children, Denny Michael Jones (Lori), Roxann Walter (Randall), Leeann Walters (Bob), William E. Shaffer Jr. (Shauna), Jessica Ammerman and Penny Huss (Paul); his son-in-law Brian Becker Sr.; and his siblings, Mary Catherine Isenberg, Mary Theresa Schermack, Susan Deversa (John), Gail Rose Anders, Jean Shaffer and Edward Shaffer Jr.. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
