She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph C. Stouffer and Margaret M. Stouffer (Kling) of Hundred Springs, Tyrone.; her son Todd Joseph Shanafelt; and her siblings, Margaret E. McClellan, Zenith M. Selwitz, Lillian Woomer (Dodi) and Joseph C. Stouffer Jr..
She is survived by: her husband Melvin K. "Sam" Shanafelt; her children, Candy L. Fisher (John) and David K. Shanafelt; her grandchildren, C. D. Gunnett (Shelby) and Sarah B. Shanafelt; her great grandchild Fin C. Gunnett; her brother Jerry Stouffer; and her close friend Larry Mueller.
