He was predeceased by: his parents, William L. Schaul and Vivian L. Schaul; and his brother William L. Schaul II. He is survived by: his niece Angela M. Schaul-Whetstine (Scott); his nephew W. Timothy Schaul (Angela R.); his great-nieces, Samantha Rogers (Matthew) and Gabrielle Whetstine; his close friend Michael; and also Vivian L.. He is also survived by friends, and golfing partners.
