He was predeceased by: his mother Ruth McMullen; and his brother Randall Carper. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Greenawalt; his daughters, Denise Bagley (Greg Gallagher), Natalie Kurtz, Dorothy Merritts (Bob Walter), Leslie Merritts and Amy Hill (Roger); and his nephews, Robin (Greg Behun) and Keith Carper. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren.
