He was predeceased by: his parents, Boyd James and Edith James (Swartz); his daughter Clarissa James; his brothers, Vernon and Carlton James; and also Candace Martz.
He is survived by: his wife Alice Lair (Craig); his sons, Sheldon D. (Chris) and Timothy W. James (Dana); his stepchildren, Colette Wildsmith, Sandy-Berk (Ruth) and Brandy-Brett Butler; and his brother Robert James. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
