He was predeceased by: his parents, George Franklin and Hilda P. Apple (Lane); his wife Josephine Fiedor; his grandsons, Rieg and John Robert Simpson; and his sister Phyllis Toney.
He is survived by: his daughters, Cathy E. Dobish (John) of Strasburg, Nancy A. Rieg of Julian and Debbie A. Simpson (John) of Altoona. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
