He was predeceased by: his spouse Valorie A. Burger; and his brothers, Richard, William, Francis and Russell.

He is survived by: his children, Cheryl Clawson (Robert), Robert D. Burger Jr (Cynthia), Valorie Timko (David) and Beth Burger (Michael Genchur); his grandchildren, Gwen, Danny, Michael, Robert, Ryan, Randy, Raelynn and Rylee; his great grandchildren, Mila and Vanessa; and his siblings, Shirley Travis and Evelyn Cardenas. He is also survived by many nieces & nephews.
