He was predeceased by: his wife Ruth N. Fortini (Yaroszeufski); his parents, Andrew Fortini and Marie J. Fortini (Rinaldi); and his siblings, Dominick Fortini, Philip Fortini, Lucy Ruella, Gigi Brickler and Ruth Kraynick.

He is survived by: his children, Kathleen A. Stapola (Dennis) and Louis A. Fortini (Tamara Kelley); his grandchildren, Kari A. Wehr (Chris), Kristin Snyder (Zach) and Sara Dolan (Mike); and his great grandchildren, Kensie, Colson Wehr, Spencer, Ben and Thea Dolan.
