It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Velma A Bailey of Troy, Pennsylvania, born in Tioga, Pennsylvania, who passed away on November 6, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Milford Heater and Ellen Merrick Heater; her husband James E. Bailey; her stepmother Madeline Heather; her siblings, Erma Mitchell (Francis), Bernice Heck, Norma Baker (Richard), Joyce Heather, Sherry Miller (Butch), Milford Heater, Jr. (Jeanette) and Wilford Heater; her brother-in-law Neal Sargent; and her grandchildren, Nicole Colin and Ethan Wayne.
She is survived by: her children, Lucretia Sweetman of Towanda and James L. Bailey (Barbara) of North Carolina; her grandsons, James W. Bailey and Corey Lovette; her sisters, Ruth Powlison of Mansfeild and Janet Tripp (Randy) of Millerton; her siblings-in-law, Nancy Heater of Millerton, Elaine Gee of Towanda and Merritt Heck of Ohio; her grandchildren, Ryan Lovette (Alex) and Samantha Lovette (Levi); and her niece Laura Barrett of Troy. She is also survived by several other nieces, nephews and friends.
