He was predeceased by: his wife Muriel Shaylor (Watkins); his parents, Fred Cornell and Arlie Shaylor (Evert); and his siblings-in-law, Howard Watkins (Edith), James Watkins, Marie Decker (Morgan), Wanda Yanchuk (Bernard), Elizabeth Newhart (John), Jean Fuller and Mary Belle Watkins.
He is survived by: his children, Eugene Shaylor (Lori) and Cindy Shaylor (Vance); his grandchildren, Krysta Clay (Daniel), Andrea Herman (Adam), Jenna VanLoon (David), Chad Shaylor (Shannon), Kellen Hoose and Joshua Stroman; and his brothers-in-law, William Watkins (Ann) and Morris Fuller. He is also survived by several great grandchildren.
