She was predeceased by: her parents, Guy Barry and Doris Hepler Barry. She is survived by: her husband John N. Zernhelt; her children, Frank D. (Jennifer), Rebecca M. Manrodt (Alexander) and John J. Zernhelt; her grandchildren, Chelsea, Quinn, Joseph and Aiden; and her siblings, Sidney, Hoffman (Paul), Judy Schwartz (Robert), Steve Barry (Suzie), Richard Barry (Deborah), Harvey "Mike" Barry (Bonnie), Randy Barry (Lisa), William Barry (Sue) and Ronald Barry (Deborah).
In lieu of flowers, and in memory of Betty's love for reading, which she instilled in her children and grandchildren should be made to the Tremont Free Public Library, PO Box 54, Tremont, PA 17981.
