He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore J. Schaefer and Elizabeth Williams Schaefer; and his siblings, Judy Jacobsen and Richard Schaefer. He is survived by: his wife Mary "Betty" "Lizzy" Wright Schaefer; his sister Linda Chew (Donald) of Oxford, PA; his brother-in-law Eric Jacobsen of Smyrna, DE; and his nieces and nephews, Lauri Phillips (Fred), Donna Truman (Kirk), Susan Stevenson (Jimmy), Robert Chew (Tammy), Bryan Chew (Dorine) and Michael Jacobsen (Rachel). He is also survived by 13 grand nieces and nephews.
