She was predeceased by: her parents, Alexander O'Kon and Mildred Schreffler O'Kon; her husband Ricky L. Boates; and her sister Cheryl Billbrough. She is survived by: her children, Ricky L. Boates Jr. (Kelly), Alan J. Boates (Nicole) and Katelyn M. Boates (Michael); her sister Bonnie Bloomer; and her grandchildren, Alyssa, Jacob, Mikaila, Ashlynn, Michael Jr. and Lilliana. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Trainer Food Bank.
