He was predeceased by: his parents, Irvin Harner and Maude Carl Harner; his wife Dorothy Schaeffer Harner; and his siblings, Ivin, Leonard, Bruce Harner and Bernice Harner.
He is survived by: his sons, Richard L. Harner, Jr. (Anne), Randal L. Harner (Jackie) and Brad A. Harner (Heather). He is also survived by seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
