He is survived by: his wife Carol McAvin; and his children, Denise C. Meyer (Nathaniel), Denja R. Roberts (Glenn), Geri L. Anderson (Jeffery), Deniel E. McAvin, Yahanan "John" McAvin (Courtney), Geriah McAvin (Michelle) and Samuel W. McAvin (Allison).
