He was predeceased by: his parents, Christian Mendler and Grace Kahler Mendler; his siblings, Roland "Ron" Mendler and Syndria "Cindy"; and his brother-in-law Roy Maines.
He is survived by: his wife Arlene Mendler; his children, Christine Wilson (William) of Harrisburg, PA, Rebecca "Becky" Basse (Evan) of Towanda and William Joseph "Billy" Mendler (Tracy Sladish) of Binghamton, NY; his grandchildren, Allison Wilson, Benjamin Wilson (Haylie), Christian Basse, Tyler Basse (Alexandra) and Meghan Mendler; and his sister-in-law Connie Mendler of North Carolina.
