He was predeceased by: his parents, Sterling M. Young and Catherine Messersmith Young; and his brother Merle Young. He is survived by: his wife Cynthia McNeal Young; his children, Lisa L. Young of Towanda, Heidi Jo Hetland of Durham, NC and Stephen G. Young (Dona M. Young) of North Brookfield; his grandchildren, Stephen Gerald Young Jr., Adam Hetland, Elise Hetland, Stephen Bourret (Shannon) and Christine Myers (Justin); his great grandchildren, Layla Bourret, Jack Bourret and Jace Myers; his aunts, Alice Shafer of Overton and Martha "Peg" Cook of Mansfield, PA; and his siblings-in-law, Wally and Sheila McNeal of Towanda. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family suggests that bequests be directed to the First Presbyterian Church 5 Court St. Towanda, PA 18848 or to a charity or organization of one's choice in memory of Sterling Gerald Young.
