He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Shaffer and Ellen Shaffer of Towanda. He is survived by: his son Nathan Leo Shaffer II; his stepdaughter Rachelle Zekler of York, Pennsylvania.; his siblings, Irene Ann Phinney (Timothy) of Puerto Rico, Sayre, Ronald R. Shaffer (Janice) of Foley, Terrytown, Elaine M. Lovegreen (Michael) of Waverly and Stephen R. Shaffer of Durell; and his aunts and uncles, Shirley B. Barnes (Donald) of North Tonawanda, NY, Gerald W. MacMorran (Dottie) of Dandridge, TN, Martin Shaffer of Powell and Christine Shaffer of Liberty Corners. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, great-nieces and nephews.
