He is survived by: his wife Susan Gillette Shanks; his brother James Shanks Sr.; his wife Diane Shanks (Post); his sister Mary Pickering (James) of Rome; his father-in-law Maurice Gillette of Towanda; and his sister-in-law Sally Gillette of Towanda.
