He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Opilla and Anna Opilla (Zubatch); and his sister Agnes Opilla. He is survived by: his spouse Dorothy Elizabeth Opilla (Stieber); and his children, Mary C. Opilla of Macungie, Margaret M. DiDomenico (Opilla) of Allentown, Theresa M. Baker (Opilla) of Manchester, Paul M. Opilla of Renton, Michael D. Opilla of Branchville, Thomas A. Opilla of Landing and Peter G. Opilla of Ogdensburg. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
