She was predeceased by: her husband Quentin J. River; and her parents, E. Gustave Buechner and Hazel Buechner. She is survived by: her children, David River and Ellen Lewis (Gregory); and her grandson Andrew Lewis.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Janet's memory to Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries, Attn: Advancement, One South Home Avenue, Topton, PA 19562.
