He was predeceased by: his girlfriend Bette Joanne (Catlett); and his parents, Samuel Halstead and Agnes Halstead (Bentley). He is survived by: his siblings, Elmer Halstead, Charlotte Rose, Leona Woehrle and Florence Wildrick; his children, Richard W. Halstead (Alma) of Tobyhanna, Randall Halstead of Stroudsburg, Lori Gocek of Towanda and Shelley DePaul of Gilbert; his grandchildren, Deidre Halstead-Yurksza (Keith) of Pocono Lake, Samantha Gocek (Kevin) of Lexington, Kentucky, Zachary Gocek (Amanda) of Tannersville and Richard A. Halstead of Tobyhanna; his niece Maryann Hubbard of Greentown; and his friend Donald Shrimp of Towanda. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
He performed with his stand-up bass at all of the local resorts and countless charity functions for most of his life.
