He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Shaffer and Dorothy Shaffer (Carter); his brother Donald Mike Shaffer; and his stepbrother Ben Abrams. He is survived by: his wife Linda Shaffer (Kolacek) of Titusville; his children, Heidi Shaffer, Abby Shaffer of Titusville, John M. Shaffer of Titusville and Eric Shaffer of Pittsburgh; his grandchildren, Taylor Ongley of Titusville, Noah Ongley of Titusville and Charlie Barker of Titusville; and his stepbrothers, Richard Abrams (Judy) of Hydetown and Gary Abrams (Judith) of Titusville. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
