He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Hanes and Helen Hanes (Firster); his stepfather Paul; and his sister Janice Hanes. He is survived by: his wife Susanne Foote; his children, Daniel R. Hanes Jr. of Warren, Debra Harrison (Glenn) of Titusville, David Dailey (Corlene) of Townville, Shannon Trammel of Georgia and Michelle Ferguson of Georgia; and his siblings, Lavonne Boyle and Jack Hanes (Shirley) of Pleasantville. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren.
