He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Hayes and Tura M. Hayes (Knopsnider); his son Joshua Hayes; and his siblings, Gilbert Hayes, Galen Hayes and Ruth Jean Butler.

He is survived by: his wife Victoria L. DelBaggio; and his brother Fred Hayes.
