He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Patterson and Velma Patterson; his wife Lila Patterson (Shelman); his son Eugene Patterson; and his siblings, Leonard Patterson, Richard "Dick" Patterson, Geraldine Lehman, Sharon Loucks and Peggy Loucks.

He is survived by: his son Randy Patterson (Sue); his grandchildren, Garrett Patterson and Morgan Patterson; and his siblings, Donald Patterson (Louise) of Tioga, PA and Arlene Price (Gerald) of Knoxville, PA..
