He was predeceased by: his parent Merrill E. Hood; his son Merrill E. "Ed" Hood; and his sister Mary Kathleen "Dolly" Howell. He is survived by: his parent Verna Hood (Varner); his wife Cora E. Hood (Yorks); his children, Gloria J. Wentz (John) of Millerstown, Paul A. Hood (Donna M.) of Thompsontown and Eileen J. Colyer (Keith) of Thompsontown; his grandchildren, Kristie Overly, Susan Williamson, Natalie Kramer, Rebecca Smith and Joshua Hood; and his great grandchildren, Wesley Williamson, Jared Hood, Libby Kramer and Colten Hood.
