He was predeceased by : his parents, Burleigh B. Gardner and Mary Ruby Gardner; and his brother Steve Gardner. He is survived by : his wife, Trebbe Johnson; his children, Jared Gardner of Ohio, Damion Gardner of New York and Justine Gardner of New York; and his grandsons, Eli, Gideon, Isaiah and Augustus (Gus).

In consideration of the Coronavirus, there will be a memorial "outdoor open house" in a few weeks.
