He was predeceased by: his wife Ann E. Downey (Haughney); his parents, Malachi Downey and Mary Downey (Faye); and his siblings, Joseph, Malachi, John, Rose Russell and Mary Printz.
He is survived by: his children, Thomas Downey of Bradenton, FL, Rita Downey of Reading, James "J. D." Downey (Jacqulyn) of Reading and Ann "Missy" Ortiz of Reading; and his sister Helen Pagano of Waterbury, CT. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
