Janet Kelly wrote a sympathy message

“Lew and I were classmates at Carson Long Institute. Lew was one of the last eight-year cadets to graduate from CLI.We reconnected at many CLI alumnie gatherings. We grew to know and love Lew and Louise. We shared endless Carson Long stories over the years. I learned what a dedicated American Lew was:his Airforce service, his tour in Viet Nam, his second career serving veterans all the way to the national level. I loved Lew like a brother; he was the best man we know. Col. Holman would be proud.”
