He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Gechter and Evelyn Gechter (Bowen). He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Gechter (Kinkaid); his children, Kathleen Gechter, Steven Gechter (Lisa), Daniel Gechter (Claire) and Michael Gechter; his grandchildren, James, Caitlin, Kelly, Owen, Tessa, Alicia, Lauren and Sarah; and his sisters, Beatrice Longernecker, Jane Hoffman and Mary Ellen Kummerer. He is also survived by his 12 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. (5153 Kutztown Rd, Temple, PA 19560). A memorial service was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Kuhn Funeral Home and Crematory (5153 Kutztown Rd, Temple, PA 19560). A burial was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 at the Pleasant View Cemetery (650 Fritztown Rd, Reading, PA 19608).
