He is survived by: his children, John "Chip" Whitman, Jr. (Maty Diene) of Tarentum, Cheryl "Margie" Garnett (William) of Creighton, Cynthia Newman (Norman) of Pittsburgh and Joni Roberts (Howard) of Midlothian, VA; his grandchildren, Todd, Tremayne, Norman, Jr., Anthony (Tomica), Hali Jo (Everett), Nicole (Jeff), Hasson, Haliya, Hosea (Taylor), Hana (Andre) and Camarius; and his sister Mary Clemons. He is also survived by great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
