She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph Hess and Helen Hess (Cooke); and her brother Richard Hess. She is survived by: her husband Paul C. Dodson; her children, Jim Dodson (Liz) of Summit Hill, Kenny Dodson (Norma) of York, Debi Dodson of Tamaqua and Bonnie Dodson-Burk (Thomas Burk) of Pittsburgh; her grandchildren, Justin Brock, Beth Dodson, Jenna Heim, Jessica Brock, Olivia Burk and Andrew Burk; her great grandchild Madelyn "MJ" Boles; and her brother Larry Hess.

Visitation was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Bethany E. C. Church (223 E Broad St, Tamaqua, PA 18252). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. (655 E Broad St, Tamaqua, PA 18252).
