He was predeceased by: his parents, George R. Hixon and Elma L. Hixon (Mundell). He is survived by: his wife Diana D. Davis; his children, Daniel R. Hixon of Jefferson, Tammy S. Miller (Worley) of Kingwood, W. Va and Consuela L. Hixon (Michelle K. Hixon) of Sycamore; his grandchildren, Jennifer, Andrew, Markitta and Justin; his great grandchildren, Isaac, Ethan, Eli, Adaline and Violet; and his siblings, Randy L. Hixon, Drucilla E. "Angel" Taylor and Lois E. Vernon. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
