He was predeceased by: his parents, William Ansel Tharp and Irene Toland Tharp. He is survived by: his daughters, Rhonda (Barry) of Waynesburg, PA. and Sherri Virgili of Waynesburg, PA.; his stepchildren, Lela Whipkey of Ohio and Calvin Whipkey of Florida; his former wife Sarah Elizabeth Black; his wife Carol Ann Craig; his son Richard William Tharp; his siblings, Herbert Tharp, James Tharp, Theda Lavaughn Pettit, Margaret Johnston, Marjorie Oliphant, Irma Jean Tharp and Madelyn Crooker; and his stepsisters, Kathryn Kalist and Blanche Courtright. He is also survived by niece and nephew.
