He was predeceased by: his parents, Roman A. Ziegler Sr. and Elizabeth Brown Ziegler; and his brothers-in-law, Robert Yashinski and Edward Krupinski. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy; his children, David Ziegler and Kimberly D'Aiello (John); his granddaughters, Emily of Swoyersville and Madelyn D'Aiello of Swoyersville; his brother Deacon John "Jack" Ziegler (Karen); his sisters-in-law, Diane Halliday (Donald), Dallas and Andrea Krupinski; and his family Dr. Gerald Gibbons. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
