He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Mies and Celia Jagodzuiska Mies; his sister Dolores; his brother-in-law Richard Farren; and his niece Delores Farren.
He is survived by: his wife Angie; his children, Robert Joseph Mies (Tammy), Joseph Mies (Kathryn) and Judith Sedlak (Paul); his grandchildren, Robbie Mies, Vera Sedlak, Jessica Stemper (Matthew), Andrew Mies (Ashley Smith), Marie Mies (Andrew Cabello), Nikolai Sedlak (Desireé), Joshua Mies (Alyssa), Michael Mies and Sarah Mies; his great grandchild Carson Sanders; and his nephew Richie Farren. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews, and friends.
