He is survived by: his wife Edith McDonnell Saunders; his children, Paula Drako (Joseph), Jane Saunders (Donald Nelson), Douglas Saunders II (Maryjean), Mark Saunders (Joanne) and Carolyn Greboniski; and his sister Nancy Pettebone. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
