Joan Alfieri Gannon Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joan Alfieri Gannon (Swissvale, Pennsylvania), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 7, 2024 at the age of 90. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Joan Alfieri Gannon to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her husband Dr. Norbert O. Gannon; her parents, Thomas Alfieri and Mary Alfieri (Dinio); and her siblings, Carmalene Alfieri, James Alfieri and Anna Clark.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Lee Gannon, Waldow (Arnie) of Fox Chapel, Norbert O. Gannon Jr. (Sally) of Falls Church, VA and Grammie of Mary Lee; and also, Maria Stecker (Steve), Lucas, Evan, Brianna Mauro, Max Mauro, Grammie, Kyle and Kerri.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 10th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Thomas L. Nied Funeral Home (7441 Washington St, Swissvale, PA 15218). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Saint Paul Cathedral (108 N Dithridge St, Pittsburgh, PA 15213).
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Lucy's Auxiliary to the Blind, St. Paul's Cathedral or St. Margaret Foundation.
